Need help with agarose gel electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis?
How does agarose gel electrophoresis differ from the capillary electrophoresis in terms of resolution (the ability to seperate DNA molecules of similar size)? Also, how are the DNA molecules detected on the ABI Genetic analyser, and how are DNA molecules ending with a given nucleotide distinguished from other nucleotides on the sequencer? Any help much appreciated! Will help me sleep better tonight. Only one more exam tommorrow!

capillary electrophoresis mainly uses UV-Vis for detection and in agarose gel electrophoresis it uses the experimenters estimation of how big the fragment of DNA/RNA from the gel (unless uses imaging programs)..
i have no idea about the ABI genetic analyser..
for the nucleotides ending with a given nucleotide sequence, you can use DBSL, COAC or COAL depending on which end your given nucleotide sequence is located.. and soz, i forgotten the names of the acronyms.. =P
